Dr. Kristie Bennett opened the Highland Eye Boutique in 2010 to offer eyecare to her Atlanta neighbors based on how she envisions eyecare should be provided — first-class eyecare, personalized service and distinctive styles of eyeglasses.

Dr. Bennett grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 2000.  She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in 2004, where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

After graduating from optometry school, the optometrist completed a postdoctoral residency at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, focusing on the treatment and management of ocular diseases and co-management of ocular surgeries under some of the most respected ophthalmologists in the world.  Afterwards, she practiced at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston in Massachusetts before moving to Atlanta in 2007 and joined Atlanta Ophthalmology Associates, where she worked until spring 2011 with some of the leading ophthalmologists in the country.

Dr. Bennett is a speaker for Acuvue contact lenses, and has contributed her contact lens knowledge in the book, Primary Care Medicine, sixth edition.  She is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

In her free time, Dr. Bennett and her husband, Rob, enjoy spending time with their sons, Robbie and Jack, and their English Bulldog, Porter, at their Morningside home.
